Middle Georgia Freightliner-Isuzu is a 3rd generation parts, service and repair facility started in 1967 by Joe and Mary Wood. Together they started out as owner operators (pre 1967) and built a small fleet of 5 trucks. In 1967 they saw a need for a local diesel repair shop in Macon, Ga. The dream began. Today's Middle Georgia Freightliner-Isuzu is actually a DBA for Middle Georgia Truck Repair, Inc.In 1972, the son Bill Wood joined the organization to help it grow. It wasn’t till 1988 that they picked up their first opportunity to be a full service part and sales company.
Today the company is still lead by Mary Wood, Bill Wood, and sister Debra Cauble. Debra keeps all the accounting information together, Bill is the General Manager, and Mary Wood is still a very active in the day to day transactions. Supporting family who also work in the family business is Heath Wood, Travis Wood, and Bill’s wife, Jenelda. There are also several extended family members involved in the company on a daily basis.
